As many of you already know, LittleBubBub has finally been born!!! For photos of her, click on Little Bub's blogpage below.

The feeling was initially surreal. I just stood transfixed at the spot looking at this form of life lying all bloody on my wife's tummy. The nurse has to nudge me and say "Take a photo!" before I actually moved. Even when I went about informing the mothers that the deed is done, I was still not registering the words that were coming out of my mouth. It feels almost like I was having a dream and I was looking at my newborn baby. Tried pinching myself. OUCH! Definitely not a dream.
It has definitely been very tiring since then, waking up at any squeal that the little bub makes and of course the difficulties of breast feeding does not help. We created our own little tag team strategy where fizzyfish feeds the little angel after which I will try to soothe her to sleep while Mummy tries to get some rest. Both of us were still recovering from the sleepless night from contractions leading to labour.
The hospital stay was good. Food was served to us and the nurses will tend to the baby while we try to catch up with some sleep. That proved very difficult as fizzyfish was not used to the softness of the pillow and the mattress while I had to wrestle with the well seasoned springs of the sofa bed. We were both looking forward to going home to the comforts of our house. But that proved to be even more trying.
No more nurses to come ferry BubBub away. No more nurses to come and remind fizzyfish of her medication. No more NURSE CALL button to press should we have difficulty soothing the "Opera Soprano"

What was worse, we committed the cardinal sin of breastfeeding. We thought that Little Bub was not getting any milk yet from fizzyfish and she has not pooped in ages. So we tried to supplement her with formula milk via a syringe. Not just any formula but Similac Excellence. The damage was done almost immediately. The next feed, baby did not want to latch on to Mummy's nipples. She was rejecting it!

The little Miss Smartie-Pants(or Diapers in this case) has already figured out that if she just cried and not latch, she will get milk the easy way! It took us all night to finally get her to latch. We came up with the idea of using a syringe to drip some water onto the nipple and 'trick' the baby genius to sucking. Poor fizzyfish became so stressed with anxiety that she became very afraid that she will never come up with the milk to feed the poor starving cutey-pie(Did I tell you that she is very cute? Well, she is VERY CUTE)
After some massages from fizzy's mum and some "I WANT TO GIVE UP!!!" moments, the first signs of milk came just as Little Bub woke up and started crying. We made it!
